The Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 lens features faster autofocus, better optical quality, and better vibration compensation (IS/VR) than its predecessor. The lens achieves these feats by utilizing a new optical construction with XLD and LD elements, a new Ultrasonic Silent Drive ring-type autofocus motor with two high-performance microcomputers, and a new VC image stabilization system with performance rated at 5-stops.Improvements does not stop there; minimum focus distance is now only 95cm (down from 130cm), the tripod mount is now Arca-Swiss compatible, an electromagnetic diaphragm is now used for improved exposure control, and the barrel is now more ergonomic. This lens model features a full-frame EF mount to make it compatible with Canon’s full-frame and cropped sensor DSLR cameras.
