The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 17mm f/1.8 Lens is a 34mm equivalent, flexible, wide-angle prime lens for general-purpose shooting.
The wide field of view pairs with the bright f/1.8 maximum aperture to benefit working in difficult lighting conditions, and it also offers increased control over the depth of field for working with selective focusing techniques.
The optical design makes use of aspherical and high refractive index glass elements to control spherical aberrations and distortion throughout the aperture range for increased sharpness and clarity.
Additionally, a Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) autofocus system is employed to deliver quick and quiet focusing performance and a manual focus clutch can be used for more intuitive adjustment and control over focus.

Good low-light performance and depth of field control
The lens features a super-fast maximum aperture of f/1.8, this enables the lens to transfer up to 8 times more light to the sensor than a conventional zoom lens at the same focal length, and enables the camera to capture sharp, and blur-free images, even in low/dim light.
The large f/1.8 aperture, combined with the 7-blade aperture, also enables you to capture a shallow depth of field, which will enable you to isolate your subject from the background for visually striking images.

The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 17mm f/1.8 Lens features an optical construction that includes three aspherical elements including a Dual Super aspherical, one High Refractive index element, and a ZUIKO Extra-low Reflection Optical Coating.
These elements work together to effectively reduce internal reflections and lens aberrations to provide sharp images.
Fast and near-silent internal MSC autofocus system with manual override
An MSC autofocus system, along with an internal focusing design, provides quick, quiet, and precise focusing performance to benefit both still photo shooting and movie recording.
Additionally, an MF clutch is used for fast changing to manual focus for more precise control.
Officially compatible with DJI’s X5, X5S , and X5R gimbals
The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 17mm f/1.8 lens is officially compatible with DJI’s Zenmuse X5, X5S, and X5R gimbals for use in drones and handheld gimbals such as the Osmo Pro/Raw.
