The JVC GY-HM180E Ultra HD 4K Camcorder’s single 1/2.3″ 12.4MP CMOS Sensor captures images in 24 or 30p, at bit rates of 150 or 70 Mb/s, Full HD up to 60p/50 Mb/s, and HD up to 120 fps for smooth slow motion.
The 3G-SDI and HDMI outputs can be used to feed and trigger an external recorder.
Lower-res proxy files may be recorded simultaneously with full-size HD files, providing smaller files suitable for posting to the web or editing on the go.
Live UHD 4K is output via the HDMI port, with HD video supported via the 3G-SDI BNC port, and viewing options include a 3.5″ LCD screen, a 0.24 Colour Viewfinder, and a smart focus-assist function.
Additional features include hot-swappable dual SDXC/SDHC card slots, two internal ND filters, and a histogram display.
It comes with a top handle unit, a hood, and an AC adapter with a power cord.

Record UHD 4K at 150 Mb/s to UHS-I Class 3 or faster SDXC cards, or at 70 Mb/s to Class 10 or higher SDXC/SDHC cards.
Live 4K Output via HDMI
Output Live 4K via HDMI for monitoring, 4K switcher use, or external recording; output HD using the 3G-SDI BNC connector.
HD Recording in MOV or AVCHD
Capture 4:2:2 HD images in MOV-wrapped 50 Mb/s files, or in 4:2:0 AVCHD files for compatibility with a variety of HD/SD formats and editing systems.
Dual Media Recording
Two SDHC/SDXC memory card slots enable simultaneous recording to provide a backup or relay recording with hot-swapping for uninterrupted shooting.
Simultaneous Proxy Capture
Record lower-resolution Proxy files at the same time as full-size HD; these smaller files are perfectly suited for posting to the web, or for quick editing.
Colour Viewfinder and 3.5″ LCD
A 3.5″ Colour LCD panel features a 920,000-pixel resolution, while the 0.24″ Viewfinder offers a crisp 1.56 million-pixel resolution.
12x Optical / 24x Dynamic Zoom
The 12x Optical / 24x Dynamic Zoom uses pixel mapping in HD mode for seamless extended zooming.
Two-Position ND Filter
Use the Two-Position ND Filter (1/4 and 1/16) for adjustable image control, including the use of a slower shutter speed for more natural motion blur.
Audio Features
Pro-style Audio features include XLR Audio inputs with phantom power for external mics, as well as a built-in stereo mic.
